Best Remanufactured Ink Cartridges

Remanufactured ink cartridges can save quite a bit of money over time. They work as well as a OEM (original equipment manufacturers) cartridges and they make sense when it comes to environmental issues. Perhaps over time the printer manufacturers will realize this and make printers that are affordable, where they can realize a profit without having to depend on the consumable parts of the printer to make money, until that time remanufactured ink cartridges is the best answer.

Toner Ink cartridges are expensive no doubt, just about anyone that has purchased an ink cartridge can attest to the expense involved in purchasing them new. As a matter of fact many manufacturers offer printers at such low costs because they make their money on ink cartridges. Most manufacturers of printers literally give away their printers. On almost all models they lose money, because the money will be gained in the printer cartridges rather quickly. Typically a $100 printer will cost at least that much to operate over the course of a year, depending on usage, if it is used more than it will cost more to operate. Even at the low end of usage at $100 a year to run a printer times the expected life of the printer which is typically two to five years, that $100 printer has costs anywhere from $200 to $500 to operate on top of the initial $100 investment.

Ink cartridges are the disposable part of printers that are integral to their function. Once the ink is depleted the ink cartridges are thrown out and a new one is installed. There are a couple of obvious problems with this model. First is the expense of constantly buying and replacing the refillable inkjet cartridges and secondly the trash that is generated from these disposable devices is terrible for the environment. Landfills sit with tons of industrial plastic and metal ink cartridges that will never decay but will sit in the landfill until the end of time. Not to mention the residual ink that will seep out over time into the ground.

There may lie an answer in remanufactured ink cartridges.  Remanufactured ink cartridges are approximately thirty percent less expensive than new inkjet ink cartridges and the savings is also realized as less stress on the environment. A new ink printer cartridge can run anywhere from $30-$100. Cheap inkjet cartridges can run anywhere from $10-$70.

The printer manufacturers work diligently to stay one step ahead of the companies that offer remanufactured ink cartridges by scaring people with poor print statistics and voiding warranties. If it has been determined that the ink cartridge was tampered with to refill it, than the warranty is void. This is an underhanded tactic on the part of the printer manufacturer to scare people into paying huge sums of money over time. This situation has turned the printer manufacturers in to monopolies all of their own. These are just scare tactics meant to dissuade the consumer from straying from the brand as the ink cartridges are where they make the most of their money.
